Class Ownership

For administrators with a Remind plan.

You can make yourself an owner of any class in your organization, and you can also add other owners to classes via the admin dashboard.

To become a class owner:

First join the class:

  1. Select a school from the Schools list located on the left side of the dashboard.
  2. Click on the Classes tab at top of the screen.
  3. Select the desired class from the list.
  4. Tap Join this class.

Then:

  1. Click on the class listed under Classes Joined on the bottom left side of the dashboard.
  2. Select the People tab at the top and search your name. 
  3. Click the three dots (...) that appear on the far right, under your profile.
  4. Click Make owner of class.
  5. Select Add to confirm that you want to become an owner of the class.
  6. Refresh the page. The class will now be listed under Classes Owned.

Please note that if a teacher has require approval to join activated for their class, they must first approve your request before you can make yourself an owner of their class.

To make others a class owner:

  1. Click the Settings tab. 
  2. Click Add class owner.
  3. Scroll through the list to find the person, and select the box next to their name.
    • If you do not see them as an option, you may need to add them to the class first.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Choose Add to confirm that you want them an owner of the class.

Please note that once you have made a person an owner of a class, you cannot remove their ownership. They have to remove themselves via their Remind account. However, you can remove your ownership of a class at anytime. 

To remove class ownership:

  1. Select the Class under Class Owned.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Scroll down to the Class Owners section.
  4. Click Remove as class owner.
  5. Select Remove to confirm the action.
  6. Refresh your page and the class will now be listed under Classes Joined.

Please note that you must first remove yourself as an owner before you can leave a class
