There are two ways to add people to a class in Remind:
- You can add them to your class from your Add people dashboard - This option is best if you have a list of class participants' phone numbers or email addresses. You can also add people in bulk by copying and pasting from a spreadsheet.
- Share instructions for joining your class - This option is best if your class participants can access a computer or phone and join your class on their own. Provide class participants with your class code, a printable PDF, in-person instructions, or a shareable link.
Remind Chat free members - when you add someone, they'll receive an invitation to your class that they must accept before they become a class participant.
Remind Hub paid members - when you add people to a class, they'll automatically become members of the class.
This article contains the following information:
- Invite people to join your class (Remind Chat members)

Add People to your class in bulk
- Open Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel, and create a spreadsheet with separate tabs for Students, Parents, and Teachers (the same headings shown on the Add people dashboard in Remind).
- For the Students tab of your spreadsheet add the following:
- Complete the same columns for Parents and Teachers on their respective tabs. Be sure to add individuals to the correct tab.
- An email address is required when inviting teachers to Remind. You can also add a phone number or secondary email address.
- Save your Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
- Copy all the information on the Students tab in your spreadsheet, and paste it onto the Students table in Remind. Do not copy and paste the headings, such as first name, last name phone or email, and preferred language.
- Repeat these steps for the Parent and Teachers tab on the spreadsheet for the respective roles in Remind. Make sure you’re copying from the correct tab on your spreadsheet and pasting the information to the correct role in Remind.
- If you need to start over, click Clear table on the bottom right and confirm the deletion of all information for the role you selected.
- Click the Add People button on the bottom left of the table.
You’re now done! All the individuals you added will appear on the People list of the class or on the People list of your school.
