In effect on January 29, 2019 at 6pm PT.

Because of new SMS fees imposed by Rogers Canada, Remind can no longer offer text messaging for devices on the Rogers network, including the following subsidiaries:

Rogers subsidiaries

  • Fido
  • Chatr
  • Cityfone
  • 7-Eleven Speak Out Wireless
  • Cansel Connect
  • good2go Mobile Canada
  • KORE Wireless
  • Petro-Canada Mobility
  • Zoomer Wireless

Remind users in Canada who have wireless plans with Rogers or one of the providers above will no longer be able to receive or send text messages.

How to continue receiving messages on Remind

If you have a wireless plan with an unsupported carrier and currently only receive Remind messages by text, you can avoid disrupting your Remind service by enabling notifications on your smartphone or computer.

If your Remind class participants receive text messages on an unsupported wireless network, make sure they don’t miss any of your messages by asking them to enable notifications with one of the options below.

On your phone: Turn on smartphone app notifications (RECOMMENDED)

Download the Remind app on the iOS App Store, on Google Play, or at rmd.me/a. If you don’t already have a Remind account, create one using the phone number where you receive Remind texts. Make sure to enable push notifications from Remind on your phone.

On your computer: Turn on email notifications or log in to your account online

Go to Remind.com on any computer. As above, if you don’t already have a Remind account, create one using the phone number where you receive Remind texts. We recommend turning on email notifications for your account so you don’t miss any messages.

Want to keep getting Remind messages by text?

Text messaging will continue to be supported for organizations with Remind hub, which is now available in Canada. Click here to learn more.
