How do I schedule a message?

You can use our scheduling feature to plan Remind messages days, weeks, or months in advance. Scheduling is currently only available for schools and classes at this time.

Web

We schedule messages based on the time zone you've set for your computer instead of the time you see on your computer clock. As a result, if you plan to travel, you must update your time zone before you schedule your message to ensure we deliver your message at the correct time. 

To schedule a message:

  1. Log in to your Remind account.
  2. Select New Message and then Message (or Urgent Message).mceclip5.png
  3. Choose the school or class you want to receive the message and click Continue.mceclip6.png
  4. Compose your message.
  5. Select the clock icon.
    1. Click Today and choose the future Date.mceclip1.png
    2. Click Select and use the scroll bar to find and choose the future Time.mceclip2.png
    3. Click Schedule.  mceclip4.png

A record of the scheduled announcement will automatically appear above the New announcement button on the Message dashboard for the school or class you selected.You can click scheduled announcement(s) to view, edit, or delete a scheduled message.mceclip3.pngmceclip12.png


App

We schedule messages based on the time zone you've set for your iPhone instead of the time you see on your phone. As a result, if you plan to travel, you must update your time zone before you schedule your message to ensure we deliver your message at the correct time. Also, you cannot schedule role-based messages via the iOS app at the moment.

To schedule a message:

iOS

  1. Open the Remind app.
  2. Select a class.
  3. Click the compose icon on the bottom right. 
  4. Choose the type of message you want to send.
  5. Select the recipients and click Next.
  6. Compose your message. 
  7. Tap the clock icon.mceclip25.png
  8. Scroll to select the date and time you want to send the message. 
  9. Tap Set time.
  10. Click Schedule.mceclip27.png

The  scheduled announcement will automatically appear at the top of your announcements. Tap scheduled announcement(s) to view, edit, or delete scheduled messages.


Android

We schedule messages based on the time zone you've set for your Android instead of the time you see on your phone. As a result, if you plan to travel, you must update your time zone before you schedule your message to ensure we deliver your message at the correct time. Also, you cannot schedule role-based messages via the Android app at the moment.

  1. Open the Remind app.
  2. Select a class.
  3. Click the compose icon on the bottom right. 
  4. Choose the type of message you want to send.
