For student users aged 13+.
You can send messages to your teachers and/or school administrators on Remind if they have replies enabled. Reach out to your teachers with questions you have about homework assignments, or send messages to your administrators about upcoming events.

Things to keep in mind
Student users under 13 can't send messages due to privacy and security protections put in place by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
If you send a message to an administrator or teacher outside of their office hours, you’ll see a notification letting you know they are unavailable. If you send a message outside of their office hours, you’ll see another notification asking you to confirm your action. You can confirm your action and send your message, but please know that the administrator or teacher may not see your message until their next office hours.
Send a message to your teacher or administrator from the People list (for Remind Hub users only)
Web
- Log in to your Remind account.
- Select the class for the teacher or administrator you want to send the message under Classes joined. This will take you to the main class page.
- Click the People tab.
- On the People list page, click on the teacher or administrator's name to open their profile on the right-hand side of the screen.
- Your view may vary for the People list, depending on the class settings set by the class owner.
- If the teacher or administrator chooses to enable participant messaging, you will see other participants as well as the teacher or administrator on the People list.
- If the teacher or administrator chooses to disable participant messaging, you won't see other class participants.
- Your view may vary for the People list, depending on the class settings set by the class owner.
- Click Message.
- Type your message in the composer box and click Send.
iOS
- Open the Remind app.
- Tap the class for the teacher or administrator you want to receive your message under Classes joined.
- Tap the People tab at the top.
- Your view may vary for the People list, depending on settings.
- If the teacher or administrator chooses to enable participant messaging, you'll see other participants as well as the teacher or administrator on the People list.
- If the teacher or administrator chooses to disable participant messaging, you won't see other participants.
- Your view may vary for the People list, depending on settings.
- Tap the teacher or administrator's name.
- Tap Message.
- Type your message and tap Send.
Android
- Open the Remind app.
- Tap your teacher or administrator's class under Classes joined on the left navigation bar.
- Tap the People tab.
- Your view may vary for the People list, depending on the class settings.
- If the teacher or administrator chooses to enable participant messaging, you'll see other participants as well as the teacher or administrator on the People list.
- If the teacher or administrator chooses to disable participant messaging, you won't see other participants.
- Your view may vary for the People list, depending on the class settings.
- Tap your teacher or administrator's name.
- Tap Message at the bottom.
- Type your message and tap Send.
View and respond to a message sent by your teacher or administrator (for all Remind users)
On the left side navigation bar, you'll see a red notification alert for the classes/schools/district your teacher or administrator sent a new message.
Web
- Log in to your Remind account.
- Click on the class/school/district with the red notification alert.
- You can also view the new message by clicking on All Conversations at the bottom of the left-side navigation bar. On the All Conversations page, select the bolded conversation from the teacher or administrator who has sent the new message. Then proceed to step 4.
- Click on the message to open and read it.

Type a response in the composer box and click Send.
- Note: You can only respond to the message if the teacher or administrator has their replies enabled.
iOS
On the left side navigation bar, you will see a red notification alert for the newly received message.
- Open the Remind app.
- Tap on the class with the red notification alert.
- You can also view the new message by clicking on All Conversations on the left-side navigation bar. On the All Conversations page, select the conversation with the teacher or administrator who has sent the new message.
- Tap the preview of the new message to open and read it.
- Type a response in the composer box and tap Send.
Android
On the left navigation bar, you'll see a red notification alert for the newly received message.
- Open the Remind app.
- Tap on the class, school, or district with the red notification alert.
- You can also view the new message by clicking on All Conversations on the left-side navigation bar. On the All Conversations page, select the conversation with the teacher or administrator who has sent the new message.
- Tap the new message preview to open and read it.
- Type in the composer box at the bottom and tap Send to reply to the message.
