You can use Remind to send messages to teachers, parents, and students enrolled in summer school programs at your organization.
There are three different ways to create summer school classes and accounts. Choose the option that’s best for your organization.
This article contains the following sections:
- Option 1: Send summer school data to Remind before pausing your sync
- Option 2: Send summer school data to Remind without pausing your sync
- Option 3: Manually create summer school classes and accounts
Option 1: Send summer school data to Remind before pausing your sync
- Add summer school classes and enrollments to your sync files at the end of the school year.
- Send the files to Remind.
- Pause your SIS to Remind sync after the summer school classes and enrollments data have transferred.
- Once you pause your sync, all rostered data will remain static in Remind until you unpause the sync in the fall.
- Summer school classes and enrollments will not update any time you make changes in your SIS while your sync is paused.
Option 2: Send summer school data to Remind without pausing your sync
- Add summer school classes and enrollments to your sync files at the end of the school year.
- Send the files to Remind.
- Any data changes made in the sync files will update in Remind. Only add information or make changes related to summer school classes and enrollments.
- Pause your sync at the end of summer school before your school-year data rollover begins.
Option 3: Manually create summer school classes and accounts
We can create a “Summer School” for your district so you can add teachers, parents, and students who need to receive school-wide messages. Teachers can also create classes they need for the summer. If you’re interested in this method, please contact your Customer Success Manager.
- You will have to manage changes to summer school classes and enrollments manually.
- Class owners and admins can update summer school classes by logging in to Remind.
- Teachers must manually archive summer school classes at the end of the summer.
