How do I share a photo or other files?

For all Remind users.

You can easily send photos and other files as part of your messages on the web or via the Remind app.

Things to keep in mind

    • The available characters for an announcement will decrease because the file will be sent as a link to text subscribers.
    • You can only attach one file at a time on the web and in the app.
    • You can attach any type of file under 10MB (PDF, .doc, .mp4, .gif, .png, .jpeg, etc) from the web.

Web

    1. Log in to your Remind account.
    2. Click New message on the left navigation bar.
    3. Select the Class or People you intend to send the message to. 
    4. Click the paper clip iconfile.png in the bottom left of the message composer.
    5. Select Photo or videophoto.png or File file.png.
    6. Choose the file or photo in your Finder (Mac) or My Computer (PC) file browser window that pops up, and click Open.
    7. Your photo or file is now attached and you can send your message!

iOS

Prerequisite: Allow Remind to access some or all of your photos and files. Open Settings > Photos > Remind > choose Selected Photos or All Photos.

  1. Open the Remind app.
  2. Tap New message.
  3. Tap Announcement or Conversation.
  4. Tap the Class or People you intend to send the message to. 
  5. Tap Next on the bottom right. 
  6. Tap File file.pngor Photophoto.png(depending on what you want to attach).
  7. Tap the file or photo you want to add to your message from the Recents folder that pops up.
    1. The photo or file will turn from transparent to opaque once it is uploaded and ready to send.
  8. Compose your message and click Send.

Android

Prerequisite: Allow Remind to access some or all of your photos and files. Open Settings > Apps & notifications > Remind > Permissions > tap Camera > choose Allow only while using the app or Ask every time > click the back arrow > choose Files and media > tap Allow access to media only  

  1. Open the Remind app.
  2. Tap New message.
  3. Choose Individual message, Announcement, or Group conversation.
  4. Select the Class(es) or People you want to send the message to, and click Next.
  5. Tap File file.png or Photo photo.png.
    1. For files, select the document you want to add to your message from the Recents Files list that pops up.
    2. For photos, select Photo library and select a picture from the Recent Images list. Or, choose Camera and take a picture. Tap the blue checkmark to attach the photo you took.
  6. Type your message. 
  7. Click Send
