You can use Remind to send messages to your organization's teachers, parents, and students in summer school programs.
Complete ClassLink’s Back-to-School Checklist: End of School Year to prepare for the summer rollover. Then decide how you want to create classes and an account for summer school participants in Remind.
This article contains the following sections:
- Option 1: Sync summer school data from your SIS to Classlink
- Option 2: Manually create summer school classes and accounts
Option 1: Sync summer school data from your SIS to ClassLink
To create rostered summer school classes and accounts in Remind, you must share your district’s summer school data in ClassLink. Once the information is in ClassLink, it will be shared with Remind automatically.
We recommend sharing summer school courses and the data from the previous school year. This is to encourage community engagement over the summer months.
Any data changes that are reflected in ClassLink will be reflected in Remind. If you're using rule-based permissions, adjust data permissions to only add summer school classes.
If you have a specific school set up in ClassLink for Summer School, please let the Remind team know so we can ensure that a similar school is set up for your data to be mapped.
Option 2: Manually create summer school classes and accounts
We can create a “Summer School” for your district so you can manually add teachers, parents, and students who need to receive school-wide messages. Teachers can also create classes they need for the summer. If you’re interested in this method, please get in touch with your Customer Success Manager.
- Summer school classes will not reflect any changes you make in ClassLink, as teachers manually create them. Class owners can update summer school classes via their account.
- Remind will not automatically archive summer classes. Teachers will need to manually archive summer school classes at the end of the summer.
