How do I create a Remind account using the iOS app?

For all new Remind Chat users.

Follow the steps below to create a free Remind chat account on your iOS device.

Your organization's administrator may have created an account for you - click here if you're a Remind Hub parent, here if you're a Remind Hub student, or here if you're a Remind Hub teacher to learn how to access your rostered account.

Administrator 

Reach out to our Support team if you're interested in obtaining Remind Hub and admin access to your organization.
  1. Download the Remind app.
  2. Enter your phone number or email address → Tap Next.
    • You can also tap Sign up with Google to use your Google account to create an account.
  3. Enter the four-digit verification code we sent to your device or email.             
  4. Create a password for your account → Tap Next.   
  5.   6. Select I'm an administrator → Enter your name → tap Next.                   
  7. Choose I work at a school or I work at a district → Search for your organization → When you find it, tap the name of your organization.
  8. Select your administrative role → Tap Next.
    • If you select Other, type your title in the What is your role? box → Tap Next.
  9. Tap Yes to confirm that your email address is your official school email.
    • We recommend that administrators use their official school email addresses when signing up with Remind.

You can now customize your account by updating your notification preferences. To set office hours, tap the settings icon at the top of the navigation bar → Tap Notifications→ Tap Add office hours→ Set your office hours → Tap Save.

Teacher

  1. Download the Remind app.
  2. Enter your phone number or email address → Tap Next.                             
    • You can also tap Sign up with Google to use your Google account to create an account.
  3. Enter the four-digit verification code we sent to your device or email.             
  4. Create a password for your account → Tap Next.                                    
  5.   6. Select I'm a teacher → Enter your name → Tap Next.
  7. If you signed up with your cell phone number, you'll be prompted to type in your email address → Tap Next.
    • We recommend that teacher use their official school email addresses when signing up with Remind.
  8. Now you have the option to create your first class or to join a class that already exists. To create your first class, type in a class name → Tap Next.
    • The switch for I will only message students 13 and older will be on automatically. 
    • If you toggle the switch to off and then tap Next, you'll receive a Sorry! pop-up. Tap OK to return to the Create your first class screen to toggle the switch to on.
  9. You may receive a notification pop-up. You can tap OK to turn on push notifications or tap Not Now to proceed with setting up your class.   10. Search for your organization to connect your class →  When you find it, tap the name of your organization.                                                                                           
    • If your created class is not affiliated with a specific organization, you can tap Skip for now, and set-up is complete.                                                        
  11. You'll see an Administrator approval pop-up screen → Type a purpose for the class → Tap Send. You can now customize your account by updating your notification preferences. To set office hours, tap the three lines in the upper left corner on your class page to go to the navigation bar → Tap the settings icon → Tap Notifications → Tap Add office hours → Set your office hours → Tap Save.

Parent

  1. Download the Remind app.
  2. Enter your phone number or email address →  Tap Next.                             
    • You can also tap Sign up with Google to use your Google account to create an account.
  3. Enter the four-digit verification code we sent to your device or email.             
  4. Create a password for your account → Tap Next.                                    
  5.   6. Select I'm a parent → Enter your name → Tap Next.  
    • If you signed up with your email address, you'll see the option to link your phone number to your Remind account. You can tap Connect your phone to add your phone number, or you can tap Skip this step.
  7. To join a class, type in the class code. To search for a class, tap search for a class instead. To create a class, tap Create a class.                                                                 
  8. Type your class name → Tap Next.
    • The statement that reads "I agree to only message people who are 13 or older"  will be shown.
  9. You may receive a notification pop-up. You can tap OK to turn on push notifications or tap Not Now to proceed with setting up your class.   10. Search for your organization to connect your class → When you find it, tap the name of your organization.                                                                                           
    • If your created class is not affiliated with a specific organization, you can tap Skip for now, and set-up is complete.

You can now customize your account by making changes to your notification preferences or add your child as a family member. Tap the settings icon at the top of the navigation bar to view your account settings and make changes as needed.

Student

  1. Download the Remind app.
  2. Enter your phone number or email address → Tap Next.                             
    • You can also tap Sign up with Google to use your Google account to create an account.
  3. Enter the four-digit verification code we sent to your device or email.             
  4. Create a password for your account → Tap Next.                                    
  5.   6. Select I'm a student → Enter your name → Tap Next. 
    • If you signed up with your email address, you'll see the option to link your phone number to your Remind account.   7. Add your birthdate → Tap Next.
    • For users 13 and older, proceed to Step 9.                       
  8. For students under 13, enter your parent's name and contact information so that they can connect their account to yours. Tap Submit. To join your first class, type in the class code and tap Done.
    • The class that you join must be owned by a teacher. If by mistake you attempt to join a class that is owned by a parent or an older student, you'll receive a pop-up.   9. To join a class, type in the class code. To search for a class, tap Search for a class instead. To create a class, tap Create a class.                                   
  10. To create a class → Type your class name → Tap Next.

  11. You may receive a notification pop-up. You can tap OK to turn on push notifications or tap Not Now to proceed with setting up your class.     • For users 13 and older, proceed to Step 9.
