Rate of Pay
Tutors are paid for the equivalent of 45 minutes of work for a 40 minute session. 60 minute sessions are paid for a complete hour.
If a session is cancelled on a tutor with less than 24 hours notice, or a student fails to show up for a scheduled session, the tutor will still be paid for the session as if it occurred. If a tutor cancels a session, the tutor will not be paid for the session.
Payment Processing and Schedule
Payments will be processed within 5 calendar days of the close of a pay period. The pay periods for tutors are the 1st-15th of each month and from the 16th through the end of each month.
Therefore tutors should expect to see an invoice from Remind Tutoring by the close of business on the 5th and 20th of each month. The payments will be dispersed based on each tutor's banking institution’s guidelines once the invoice has been processed.
Tutors do not need to submit invoices to Remind for payment to be processed.
Please note that tutors are independent contractors of Remind and are responsible for submitting their own taxes. Remind will send out a 1099-NEC via email and mail during tax preparation season of the following year if a tutor makes over the IRS threshold for that tax year. If a tutor does not earn more than the IRS threshold for that year, no 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC forms will be provided. Please consult a tax advisor for further details.
If you notice a discrepancy in your pay, please contact Remind Tutoring here and indicate the pay period that you are referring to, the amount that is inaccurate, and (if applicable) the session that is being referenced. The Remind team will look into the discrepancy and get back to you as soon as possible.
