Matching and Unmatching

Matching with a Student

Tutors are matched with students based on the tutors’ recurring availability, subject matter expertise, number of recurring students, and number of students matched. When possible, Remind Tutoring will also honor tutoring requests by parents for pairing students who are ESL with people who speak their native tongue with fluency in addition to English. We’ve found that this ensures that students are matched with the tutors they can be most comfortable and successful with.

Remind uses the preferred availability you set to automatically schedule all tutoring sessions. Please note that any hour that is included may have a session scheduled. All sessions will be scheduled with more than 24 hours notice although we may reach out directly to you if we are looking to have a session scheduled last minute.

Unmatching with a Student

If for whatever reason, you would like to be unmatched with a student, please reach out to the Remind Support team with the following information: the student you would like to be unmatched from, the reason, and any specific information you have on the situation. This will assist us in better matching students and tutors in the future.

If you are unable to tutor a student in a session that was scheduled more than 24 hours out, please reach out to us directly with as much notice as possible so we can reschedule the session.

If a student is advancing to the next level of math and you are unable to continue, please let us know as well. We’ll update the student’s subject accordingly and assist them in getting matched with a new tutor.
