Remind Tutoring: FAQ

How does Remind Tutoring work?

After you have selected your student's subject(s), grade level, and chosen a recurring session time, your student will be paired with a Remind tutor for weekly recurring sessions. These sessions include a video call with the tutor as well as access to the interactive whiteboard allowing the tutor and student to work in tandem.

Thirty minutes before a session starts, a message with a link to join the video call with your Remind tutor is sent through the Remind message thread, and with a link to the interactive whiteboard. After the session, the tutor will send a summary of the session, as well as possibly additional resources and recommended next steps.

Who are the tutors?

Remind tutors are selected through a thorough interview and screening process, which includes a background check, which includes checks across local, county, federal, and global databases, as well as a sex offender search, and vetting their ability to tailor instruction for different needs. Remind tutors will meet your student where they are, regardless of your student's current mastery of the topic. Remind only selects tutors who are highly engaging, organized, and versed in online instructional tools.

Will we get the same tutor each time?

Remind Tutoring follow the High Dosage Tutoring methodology. For more information click here.

As such, Remind prioritizes the relationship between a student and their tutor. Therefore, students will remain with the same tutor for all of their sessions per subject.

If your student needs an additional session or if your tutor is unavailable for an individual session you will have the option of working with your tutor's schedule or working with a new tutor for that individual session. In either case, your primary tutor will remain a core part of your student's education team.

If your primary tutor isn't a great fit or if your student's needs change, we can match your student with a different tutor for future sessions based on your feedback. You always have the option to change tutors at any point by contacting us here.
