The Remind engagement rating

The Remind engagement rating allows administrators to assess engagement across an entire school organization. Calculated from national school data as well as Remind usage information, the rating determines whether schools are Emerging, Growing, Active, or Engaged.

Where the data is from

The engagement rating is based on publicly available school data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and usage statistics from Remind, both for individual organizations and aggregated at the state and national levels.

Until now, the Remind community engagement statistics displayed with each school’s rating have only been available to organizations with Remind Hub. These statistics are updated every month.

How ratings are calculated

Using the data above, each school’s rating is calculated from the reach, cadence, and quality of engagement across the organization. The rating represents the percentage of a school community engaged during the past four weeks, so it updates monthly and resets every school year.

How to see your school’s engagement rating

To access your school’s custom page, which includes your rating, community engagement statistics, and strategies for improving engagement, just visit the Remind engagement rating site and search for your school.

Organizations without an engagement rating

An engagement rating is available for every school with publicly available school data and Remind usage, minus organizations that currently have Remind Hub. If you can’t find your school page or engagement rating, it might be due to one of the following reasons:

  • Your organization isn’t a school. This means the NCES school data needed to calculate the rating isn’t available for your organization.
  • Remind isn’t used at your school. This means Remind usage statistics aren’t available for your organization. Once your school has educators, students, and parents actively using Remind, you should be able to see an engagement rating as well as community engagement statistics.
  • Your school already has Remind Hub. Rating levels are based on engagement for similar schools across the country. This is why ratings aren’t currently available for schools with Remind Hub, which typically have significantly higher engagement on Remind.

If you have any questions, or you’d like a closer look at the engagement statistics for your school, our team is happy to follow up. Just drop us a line and we’ll be in touch!
