Things to keep in mind
- Students under 13 are able to make changes to their notification preferences so they can control how they receive announcements. However, they are unable to respond to announcements, and also can't participate in one to one or group conversations on Remind.
- You can learn how to view members of your organization's user notification preferences and troubleshoot why a user may not be receiving your messages by reading the following article: Why aren't my messages being delivered?
At-a-glance reachability status
- When viewing a person's profile, if you see a lightning bolt next to their name, they're receiving Remind messages as push notifications or texts on their phones—the most effective way to make sure they can see and read your messages.
- If a person's profile has three dots next to their name, they're receiving your messages via email.
- If a person's profile has an X next to their name, they do not have a contact device linked with their Remind account. Or if the individual has a contact device linked to their account, they've opted out of receiving all notifications.
- These individuals need to update their accounts to add a contact device so they're able to receive messages. If the person has shared their updated contact information with you, you can read the following article to update their contact information from your administrator account: How do I make changes to a participant's contact information?
